From what I've read, the Mossberg 835 uses a barrel that has the diameter of a 10-gauge . . . and that's why the Mossberg 835 is really the only gun that will have a good pattern with a 3.5" shell. Any gun with a normal 12-gauge barrel is basically not meant to shoot the amount of shot and the amount of pressure that a 3.5" shell offers.It's almost like it will eject the shell for you. With my Remington i could get off 3 shells in about 2.5 seconds. With the SXP i can get off 3 shells in about 1.5 secs. Really with shotguns it's all a matter of preference. I am all about the pumps.
